Mission

Our mission at Little Schoolhouse is to provide an early childhood program that works collaboratively with parents and teachers to build a strong foundation for future academic success. We provide a safe, creative, and interactive environment that supports each child uniquely and promotes endless opportunities to foster the love of learning and self-independence.

Philosophy

At Little Schoolhouse, we use an emergent curriculum that is child-led. We believe the child learns best in a nurturing, child-initiated play-based environment that fosters self-independence, self-confidence, trust, creativity, autonomy and acceptance of individual differences. Child-led learning is all about following the child’s interests and signs of readiness for both academic skills and their own curiosities. We understand that all children are unique and come from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds, therefore, our goal is to enrich and to empower each child by accepting every child for who they are. We are devoted to promoting endless opportunities of learning by creating a rich environment that children can explore and interact with. Our approach values the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of the child as a whole.

With a nurturing and positive interaction we strive to show all children how to care for themselves, each other, and the environment around them.  With respect, empathy, and communication we care and guide each child based on their level and needs. At Little Schoolhouse, we are also devoted to creating consistency by building partnerships between parent, child, and teacher. These relationships are important because it provides a bridge between the student, school and home environment. Partnerships allow for parents to be involved and aware of their child’s learning and developmental progress. We value all children and parents, and believe that with great dedication and consistency we will be able to nurture an extraordinary next generation.
